Histoire administrative
Le Comité pour étudier l'établissement d'une École de commerce a été créé par le Sénat en 1966 (Sénat 66.77). Il a la tâche d'étudier la possibilité d'établir une école de commerce. Le Comité a aussi porté le nom de Comité pour étudier l'opportunité de créer une École de commerce. Un sous-comité a été formé sous son l'égide: Comité pour étudier le changement de statut du Département de commerce. Le Comité a déposé un rapport le 8 août 1966, et a été aboli. En 1967, dans son rapport, soumis au recteur le 24 août 1967, M. John Deutsch recommande de porter le programme de premier cycle à quatre ans, de transformer le Département de commerce de la Faculté des arts en une école de commerce et d'administration rattachée à la Faculté des sciences sociales, et de créer un programme d'études supérieures en administration. Le 25 septembre 1967, le Sénat créé le Comité pour étudier le rapport de John J. Deutsch (Sénat 67-68.52). Ce nouveau Comité doit faire des recommandations sur la mise en oeuvre des propositions soumises dans le rapport Deutsch. Le 5 février 1968, le Sénat élargissait le mandat du Comité afin de lui permettre de faire des plans précis sur l'avenir de l'administration à l'Université. En juin 1968 le Comité crée un sous-comité: Sub-Committee of the Committee on the Implementation of the Deutsch Report. Dans son rapport remis au Sénat le 2 décembre 1968, le Comité recommandait la création d'une Faculté des sciences administratives. Le Sénat crée alors le Comité pour l'organisation d'une Faculté des sciences administratives, pour voir à la mise en oeuvre des recommandations du Comité. Sa tâche terminée, le Comité était dissout en 1969 (Sénat 69-70.10).

Administrative history
The Committee on the School of Commerce was established by the Senate on March 7, 1966 to study the possibility of establishing such a school. The Committee submitted a report on August 8, 1966, and was then abolished. In1967, Dr. John J. Deutsh undertook a study on the possible directions of the commercial sciences at the University. In his report, submitted to the Rector August 24, 1967, Deutsh recommended the extension of the undergraduate programme to four years, the transformation of the Department of Commerce in the Faculty of Arts to a School of Commerce and Administration within the Faculty of Social Sciences, as well as the creation of graduate studies programmes in administration. The Senate created a committee on September 25, 1967, to study Deutsh's report and make recommendations on the implementation of his propositions. On February 5, 1968, the Senate enlarged the mandate of the committee to allow it to make precise plans on the future of administration at the University. In its report to the Senate on December 2, 1968, the Committee recommended that a Faculty of Administrative Sciences be established. The Senate then created the Committee for the Organization of the Faculty of Administrative Sciences to see to implementation of the Committee's recommendations. Having completed its task, the Committee was abolished July 8, 1969.
