Administrative history

The University Counseling Service is established in 1966 in the Faculty of Psychology and Education. In 1972, the Service becomes part of the newly formed Department of Student Services. The Service aims to help students recognize and fulfill their potential. It offers educational and career planning, and personal counseling. The service is also responsible for the Career Information Place which provides comprehensive information on careers and vocational opportunities, training programs, and educational institutions. In 1992, the Service's name was changed to Career and Counseling Service. It is responsible for two centers: the Career Information Centre and the Placement Centre. Since 1993, it reports to Student Affairs.

Scope and content

The fonds contain files which document the functions of the Career and Counseling Services. It includes annual reports (1966-1983), some activity programmes, research reports (1966-1971) and memorandums (1974-1975, 1993).

Restrictions: Documents containing confidential and personal information are restricted to consultation and reproduction.The records are submitted to the Copyright's Act.
