Administrative history
In November 1985, the Board of Governors creates a committee to develop principles on employment equity. In the spring of 1986, the University is granted funding from the Ontario Government's Employment Equity Incentive Program and an Employment and Education Analyst is hired as of August 1986. In the interim, the Office of the Vice-Rector Academic forms an Employment and Education Committee whose mandate is to examine the situation of women within the Administrative Staff, within faculty and within the student body. The employment Equity Analyst is attached to that committee. The Committee changes its name to become Employment and Education Equity Program and is formed of the ad-hoc committees on employment equity and education equity.
Scope and content
The fonds contain files which document the functions of Employment and Education Equity Program. It includes minutes (1985-1988), an annual report (1993), a biennial report (1989-1991), memorandums (1994, 1996-1999), statistics (1985, 1988, 1990-1993, 1995, 1998-1999) and various reports and studies on employment, education and women.
