Administrative history

In order to meet its financial needs, the University makes numerous appeals to the public for funds. In 1945, a first campaign brings in $250,000. A Department of Development is established to co-ordinate a major campaign in 1960. From 1961 to 1965, under the direction of G.W. Boss, the first phase of the Achievement Fund Campaign garners $1,700,000. Following the resignation of the director, the second phase is never started. In 1968, the Financial Resources Service replaces the previous department and continues the task of appealing for funds. It is abolished in 1972.

Scope and content

The fonds contain files which document the functions of the Financial Resources Services. It includes financial reports (1960-1966), correspondence and miscellaneous publications. The photos document various buildings on campus during the 1960s as well as a few major events.

Restrictions: Documents containing confidential and personal information are restricted to consultation and reproduction.The records are submitted to the Copyright's Act.
