Administrative history

The Department of Economics is established in 1955 within the Faculty of Social, Economic and Political Sciences. The Department requires that its undergraduate students acquire sufficient knowledge of existing institutions and economic history as well as a sound knowledge of basic theory and a sound grasp of quantitative methods. M.A. and Ph.D. students can specialize in the following areas of study: economic theory; mathematical economics and econometrics; resource economics and economic history; development, trade and planning; money, banking and public finance.

Scope and content

The fonds contain files which document the functions of the Department of Economics. It includes Department Council minutes (1961-1983), Teaching Staff Committee minutes (1977-1978), material from miscellaneous committees and annual reports (1967-1968). It also contains exam questionnaires (1976-1982), course outlines (1963, 1975-1983), timetables (1983-1984, 1986-1987), correspondence and a large collection of publication containing research papers.

Restrictions: Documents containing confidential and personal information are restricted to consultation and reproduction.The records are submitted to the Copyright's Act.
