Administrative history

In 1975, the Administrative Committee appointed a task force to study the use of physical activity facilities at the University by the School of Physical Education and Sports Services. In its report submitted in December 1975, the Task Force recommended the establishment of a Users' Committee having suitable representation from major users of the facilities. The Committee of the Users of Physical Activity and Sporting Facilities was created in 1976 as an advisory committee to the Administrative Committee. It was responsible for the approval and annual review of the basic services required by each of the major users of the facilities, approval of the annual budget for the operation of the facilities, approval of rules and directives for the operation of facilities, coordination of the annual submission to the University Scheduling Officer for the allocation of space in the physical and sporting facilities for academic programs; and approval of the timetable prepared by the manager for the overall use of the facilities. The Committee was abolished in 1993 (Administration Committee, res. 1225.3).
