Administrative history
The Department of Electrical Engineering was established in 1956 in the School of Pure and Applied Sciences. Construction of a new building (Vachon Hall) designed specifically for electrical engineering was completed in September 1957, and the first graduates received their degrees in 1959. Research programmes and graduate courses were organized in the early 1960's. The Department offers three programme options at the undergraduate level: electrical engineering, computer engineering, and engineering management. Since 1981, a co-operative programme with industry is also offered. At the graduate level, the Department offers courses leading to a M.Eng., M.A.Sc., and a Ph.D.
Scope and content
These fonds contains students' files as well as office files which document the administrative, teaching, and research functions of the Department. Includes departmental minutes (1971-1974, 1978-1979, 1987-1990), publications, and examination questionnaires.
