Administrative history

The position of Legal Counsel was established in 1971 in the Office of the Secretary of the University. The Counsel ensures that laws which affect the University are respected by the staff, defends the interests of the institution before the courts and other legal bodiesand protects the rights of the University in contractual matters.

Scope and content

The fonds contains files which document the functions of the Legal Counsel. It includes mostly case files that touch on a wide range of subjects, including employee grievances.
